I have a handa stream running a K20a engine, I have recently changed the engine due to knocking in the original engine, but now the car struggles to get to 5000rpm and will not rev past this point.Normal driving is fine car starts and idles fine but only WOT does this issue occur.I had code po341 when engine first started but this turned out to be the spool valve for the variable valve timing replaced the spool valve and issue went away. I have exchanged all sensor from the original engine, fuel pressure is 50psi, tried disconnecting the exhaust but still same issue, any suggestions?
Country: New ZealandMake: HondaModel: StreamYear: 2003Engine: K20a Already Tried: exchenged all sensors fuel pressure 50psi, disconnected exhaust checked inlet for blockake ok. tried different ecu
You used the same exact year motor and model correct ?
yes engine came from another honda stream same year and model
P0341 is for the cam sensor not spool valve was this replaced ?
No po341 is bank one camshaft phasing incorrect which turned out to be the spool valve stuck open causing the cam to advance too much at idle, but yes cam sensors were both replaced.
The only sensors I have not exchanged are the tps and map sensors as they are part of the throttle body and did not come with the replacement engine they are original to the vehicle.
Ok that's your issue then . Can you check the operation of the TPS in the data list screen of the scanner to see if it's malfunctioning.
I only have a cheap scanner and it will not alow me to check tps with engine not running but from what I can see with no load the tps operates from off idle but not sure about WOT under load will get some one to come with me and try it on the road while I look at the data
Ok I will post that for you later tonight if that's ok .
Sure thats fine, it is about the only thing I can think that it could be now, other then the vtc actuator but if that was not working I would have expected it to log a code either cam too far retarded or advanced.
Yes me to I'm sure that the issue
ok found the issue, the bolts holding the bearing caps for the camshafts were loose, which have resulted in no oil pressure to cam journals and were siezing in the head, head is stuffed along with the cams.
That's what I figured that's why you has that code .That's why I stated to check the cam sensor . .Please remember the site has changed and you need to click the got the job done or higher rating for me to get credit for my help.Anything lower gives me negative feedback and I do not get compensated for my help.If you need further assistance please let me know I would be glad to help.Positive feedback and bonuses greatly appreciated.
