nissan pulsar: slow down..cars..low gear ,on acceleration..drives

Customer Question

HI we have a nissan pulsar 1836 4x4 auto wagon, and to day the g/b decided it did not want to change up .On the trip home had to slow down for other cars ,and the box dropped back to low gear ,on acceleration it did not change up all the way home.Stayed in 1st gear.
I have had a look at all the wires and pipes and all seem ok,but on two test drives just stayed in low gear.
what could be the problem and what else should I be looking for.

HI ..no dont need any assistence as it is to late .The car now is in the repair shop, and it turns out that there is a nylon cam in the g/b that is the problem as they strip at odd times and prevent the g/b changing into a higher gear.

I kind of got the impression that your service was a asap as you had experts on line 24/7.

This reply now comes to me around 18 hrs after posting.

So I would say $28 for nothing.
