Hello,I have a 2004 Holden Astra CDX hatchback. The air conditioning is climate control and on the display in the middle of the dash that also displays the radio station, time etc, the temperature is displaying between 55 to 63 degrees. This is effecting the heating as 23 degrees which normally warms the car is blowing out cold, as the car obviously thinks it is quite hot warm.I just wanted to know is this a major electrical issue or is it just a case of fixing a small part i.e. fuse/chip?

Hello, my name is XXXXXX XXX I will try to help you out.
Unfortunately I don't think there is a happy ending here. The internal air temperature sensor is a part of the climate control module and is not a separately serviced item. If you can provide me wiyh the VIN I can do some more research for you on Tuesday and let you know for sure.
Cheers
Andrew

Hi Andrew,
The Vin no. is Wolotgf4845143551. I have had work done on the climate control over the last two years. The last works was a replacement of the float or something, do you think this work would be covered by the warranty of the part they put in last year? It cost $800 so I assume they did some major work on it.
Holden are really expensive so I am apprehensive of taking the car back to them as approx $1200 has already been spent on the air conditioning.
Thanks for the reply. If you have the part number/s of the parts that they replaced las time then I can check for you.
Hi Andrerw,I have attached 4 invoices below so you know exactly what the issues were and what was done and part numbers.I really appreciate your assistance with this.

Hello JoThanks for the invoices I have had a look at them and unfortunately the part that you require is not something that has been replaced previously. The previous air conditioning work that was carried out was on the compressor. This is attached to the engine and compresses the air con gas. The part that is required for your car is internal. Will do a bit more research for you tomorrow and get back to you. CheersAndrew
Thank you.
Hello JoI have been having another look at this and I think the best thing to do would be to represent the vehicle to the dealer and let them know that you are not happy at spending $500 in November last year and that your air conditioning has stopped working again. This way we may get a free diagnosis of the problem. Maybe the system has another issue. Let them do the diag and quote on the problem. Then we can go from there.Cheers.
