Hi, it's Glenn here, glad to have you as a JustAnswer customer. I'd like to help you with your question.

It will take a little time (probably overnight) for me to contact my list of suppliers and allow them time to get back to me.

I just require a little more information.

  1. I assume that you are wanting a secondhand engine?
  2. What state and area are you in? so hopefully I can locate a supplier local to you (please don't reveal your exact address details)

Ok, I have some prices for you to consider.

I called the local Holden dealer, a brand new engine is $10,200 but he checked Melbourne warehouse and they are no longer available so that's not an option.

Repco Albury can supply a reconditioned engine for $5,800 it's sold on an exchange basis (they want your old engine back). Warranty is 12 months. Stock is at the warehouse, supplied 2-3 days after ordering. Ph 6021 5526.

Albury Auto Wreckers & 4x4 have a secondhand engine, before sale they run it to test it, and carry out a compression test, then remove it from the car. It has a 3 month warranty. It's sold on an exchange basis. Phone 6021 5177.

The above prices are for the engine only, so If you are not fitting the engine yourself then the labor cost should come in at around $1,000 plus any ancillary parts such as cooling system hoses, clamps etc.

Don't forget that if you have any more questions or you are unsure of what I mean in the information provided please ask for more clarification, I'm only too happy to work with you to achieve a good result. Remember even after clicking 'accept' we can continue the current conversation without further payment. Cheers Glenn.
