Holden Astra 2003 SRI Hatchback - Key won't turn in ignition. Transmission in Park. Could this possibly be caused by brake lights/fuse issue?

No manual override release of transmission is available. Steering wheel lock is on.

Allan :

Hi common cause for this to happen is the ignition barrel tumblers become worn over time. Causing the lock to become stuck, you can try lubricating the barrel were thr key goes in with some WD-40 or other lubricant sometimes it will come free. But is bound to happen again, best to replace ignition barrel with a new one, this can be done at your local Holden dealer. Hope this helps Allan
