Customer Question

I have been told that the cam shaft in an 2011 audi 2.0 engine was causing the motor mounts to go out is this possible?
JA: How many miles are on the car? Is it an automatic or a manual transmission?
Customer: 47000 plus small amount automatic
JA: What is the model of your '11 Audi?
Customer: a5
JA: Are you fixing your A5 yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: I will not try to fix it myself but I can not believe the cam shaft can cause the motor mounts to go out unless the motor was running bad I gust do not want to replace the shaft in not need to
JA: Anything else you want the mechanic to know before I connect you?

Welcome, I'm Chris (aka Moose), my normal schedule online is around lunch and after dinner past midnight.

A motor mount will fail from excessive engine torque, age, and engine vibration. I have a hard time blaming the cam shaft for a mount failure. Does the engine idle poorly or ever misfire?

Thanks for letting me help you & for leaving me a ~5 STAR EXCELLENT~rating when ready. Rating results in the website paying me from the question fee you have already paid. Although I appreciate customers saying "Thank You" that alone does not result in me being compensated if you were pleased.

Thanks Chris
