I have a 2004 audi a4 quattro that wont start or crank.

i have a 2004 audi a4 quattro that wont start or crank. sometimes when turning the key and alarm sounds from the stereo. it will only let me try cranking it once then locks me out until i pull the key out and try again.

the battery is brand new and the engine spins freely as well

are you talking about the security light that is on the door? if so it goes off when unlocking the doors and does not come back on unless i lock the doors again

i found what was making the beeping noise. It looked like an aftermarket alarm of some sort and i unplugged it from its harness and now the car has started. Only problem now is that when started it sounds like the starter keeps going with the engine running. Could this be because of the wiring from this aftermarket alarm system?
