Audi A6 Quattro: Hello my name isXXXXX own a 2005 Audi

This answer was rated:

Hello my name isXXXXX own a 2005 Audi A6 3.2L, and the dealer has detected a misfire on cylinder 4. My question is: what could be causing this misfire and what do I need to do to fix the problem? thanks you.

AudiDoc :

Hello, I'm Jason. I will do my best to answer your question quickly and accurately using the information you have provided.

AudiDoc :

In most cases, this is a simple ignition coil replacement job

AudiDoc :

There have been some issues with injector leak down causing this also

Customer:

So what do you recommend me doing in this case?

AudiDoc :

is the car still at the dealer, and if so, have they given you an estimate to repair it?

Customer:

No, I have it here with me, they didn't give me an estimate, they just reset the engine light and didn't give me any more info, other then it was misfiring in cylinder #4.

AudiDoc :

Ok, I would start by replacing the #4 coil pack. Use a coil from the dealer only, as aftermarkets fail too often

AudiDoc :

#4 is driver's side front

Customer:

ok that sounds good, I appreciate the help.

AudiDoc :

Glad to do it
