So does the 2001 A6 2.7T Manual have a ECM relay? I looked every where and no luck. I opened the E-box panel and nothing. My Allroad 2004 has it, but not the 2001. Or is there another location for it?
Hello, I am looking up information for you
What is the problem that you are having? Why are you trying to locate the ECM relay?
yes
Well I only have two options. Find the ECM power relay or change the ECM.
Are you not getting power to the ECM?
nope.
I have a VAG-COM and it can't communicate with the ECM. So I don't know if I have a code since it wont communicate. It was weird the car started fine last week and now nothing.
will a 2004 allroad ECM work?
The ECM is programmed to the car. You can do some programming with VAG-Com but ust swapping will not work.
Oh no I meant if It will let me know if it is the ECM bad.
How have you checked for power at the ECM? Did you check directly at the ECM?
Have you checked ALL the fuses?
I do not see a seperate relay for the ecm in the 2001 A6 2.7
no I didn't check the ECM directly but I check all the fuses.
I would check the pins directly at the ECM to make sure both power and grounds are ok at the ECM. There will be more than one power and more than one ground.
so the 2001 A6 doesn't have the 3-fold relay panel. fuse panel S1?
there is no power coming to fuses 29 engine control module and 34 engine control module, fuel injectors
Do you have a wiring diagram for this car? You need to trace the source of power to these fuses and locate all the powers and grounds for the ECM
The fuel pump relay also supplies power to the ECM
no
yes I check the fuel pump relay as well
The ignition switch is suspect here
But you really need a wiring diagram so you can see where the power and grounds are comming from
true
the only thing I want to know if this car has a 3-fold relay panel. fuse panel S1?

but if it was the ignition switch i would communicate with the engine computer.
Yes, there is a 3 fold relay panel, under the dash on the right side.
Above the relay panel where the fuel pump relay is
that's the 13-fold relay panel
I can't view your picture
The ignition switch may not be powering up one circuit which feeds power to the ecm
yes, sorry, that is the 13 fold panel. The fuel pump relay is the only relay supplying power to the ECM. Also fuse 32 supplies power to the ECM
You need to find why those fuses you mentioned are not getting power
Ok
I get power to fuse 32, but not the other two.
I would start by tracking that
Fuses 29,32 and 34 all supply power to the ECM
ok will try tomorrow thanks.
