It's not common for an ECU/ECM to fail- and if it is replaced, it needs to be adapted to the immobilizer and to the vehicle, as well as coded for applicable use- this requires a download from VW, which is only available with a dealer scan tool and access.
If you could explain what your failure is that you diagnosed the ECM having failed?
Hi there,
I know only the agent can do it for me. But my car is not from agent so i have to source from outside. Would you be able to get anyone that i can get the ecu coded?
The ECM would have to be coded IN the vehicle- because it has to be able to communicate with the cluster and other modules in the vehicle- the VIN is transmitted and stored in the ECM and other modules, as well as adapting to the immobilizer.
