Thank you for the pictures.

This is either a 1987 or 1968 edition. The fact that it has a leather cover is odd, as there are no editions printed in leather. They all were hardback with dust jackets. The cover and dust jacket would allow us to tell which edition it is but without that I can only guess based on the tanning of the pages that it is the 1968 edition.

It is possible someone had this copy rebound. Either copy in very good/near fine condition has a retail value of $150-200. If truly leather, I would estimate $200-250, possibly more. I had this exact same book several months ago at a book fair and not only was it the first book I sold, while I was holding it for a customer I could have sold it ten times over. The prints are beautiful and it is classic America.

Please see http://www.ioba.org/pages/resources/condition-definitions/ for widely accepted descriptions of book conditions. Condition matters a great deal to collectors (and as such to dealers).

If you choose to sell, I would suggest searching for an ABAA, ILAB or IOBA member in your area. These associations have member directories on their websites. Give as much detail as you can on the condition and perhaps pictures to assist them in judging whether or not they would be interested in your volume. Remember that a dealer will need to offer you a price that enables them to make a profit.

I hope this was helpful. Please let me know if you have any further questions.
