Hi Ransdell. I have another piece Id like you to look at.

Customer Question

Hi Ransdell. I have another piece I'd like you to look at. It is a 2 piece cabinet. I think the wood is mahogany. It's very heavy. Very nice condition except for a few minor issues as I'll get to once you've seen the pictures. You can view my cabinet on PhotoBucket: "kathyjuul". Thanks in advance.

Hi Kathy, you have to go to your account on photobucket open up the picture and copy and paste the link into the message box and send it to me. This has to be in the public access section in order for me to view it thanks, Alan.

Hi Kathy, these are nice Chinese Tansu step Cabinets did you have them refinished?

Customer replied 322 days and 20 hours ago.

I don't know about the finish. I bought them at a consignment shop! Hoping they are worth something! Please???

Customer replied 322 days and 20 hours ago.

The entire piece seems to have the same finish inside and out. My mother taught me how to refinish furniture but never the ENTIRE piece...

Hi Kathy, they are early 1900's Taisho Period (1912-1926) Japanese Tansu step cabinets made of Elm wood with red lacquer. At auction I would estimate them at $550 - $850 USD. a piece. How much did you pay for them? Thank you, Alan

Customer replied 322 days and 20 hours ago.

I paid $360 for the pair. Do you know where I can sell them? Thanks.

Okay, thats pretty interesting, thanks for sharing. My grandparents lived in college park and I took some courses through them. As for your items, i recommend that you get in contact with this auction house in Washington D.C. called Weshclers. I believe that they will be able to get all these items sold for you. I hope this helps Kathy!Alan C. Ransdell, ISA AM, AOA AM, CA41073.6820532755

Thanks. One more thing? I checked Weshclers and they don't have an auction until September and I need the money sooner than that. Am I just better off trying to sell the cabinets on Craigslist? I also have a Lee Woodard '70s extruded aluminum table--glass top--with 4 chairs. The aluminum has oxidized to some degree but the cushions look good and are the originals. Craigslist also? Sorry to inconvenience you. Much appreciated, Kathy

The Lee Woodard table $250 - $450 put it at Sloan's also good luck, Alan

Customer replied 322 days and 2 hours ago.

Huh? I've seen the Woodard table and chairs online--exact thing--going for $5,000 to $6,000 grand. Yikes...

Hi Kathy, send me a picture of it please

Customer replied 322 days and 2 hours ago.

Here is one chair. I have four with the cushions and Woodard tags on the bottom of two of them. The base is the same as the chairs with a glass top.

Hi Kathy, you are not going to get that anywhere near you this needs to go to eBay and put buyers pays for shipping or local pick up I would estimate it at $2500 - $4000 USD. an you load to eBay?

Customer replied 322 days and 1 hours ago.

That's much better! I'd be happy with $3,000. I got it for $200! I don't like selling on Ebay because some Ebay buyers can be very nasty. But... I fear that may be the way to go. Thanks much!
