JA: I'll do all I can to help. How long have you been dealing with this?
Customer: just noticed it about an hoour and a half ago
JA: Do you plan on doing the work yourself?
Customer: just need to know what is happening
JA: Anything else we should know to help you best?
Customer: it is built in so we just pulled it ou and unplugged it. someone told us to wait a few hours to let computer reset and then plug it back in

What is the make and model of the unit?

Is the compressor and fan by the compressor running?

We unplugged it so we wouldn't have a fire as it kept getting hotter

The freezer seemed to be running but then after a while it started dripping.

OK likely you have a bad board behind the unit, that would go bad often and then the unit will not turn the compressor on and everything will thaw out. I would check to see if the fan by the compressor is running, if it is and the compressor is just warm to the touch and not running replace the main control board on the unit.
