I'm trying to fix my ice maker/water dispenser, LG

Customer Question

Hey...I'm trying to fix my ice maker/water dispenser
JA: What's the make and model? And can you guesstimate how old it is?
Customer: LG LFX25960st
JA: Do you plan on doing the work yourself?
Customer: I've replaced the ice maker with a brand new one...plugged it in. Won't turn on. Then I checked the refrigerator door switches...they were good. Had continuity. Then I measured the voltage coming into the ice maker. I was measuring 1v. I'm sure it runs on more than one volt.
JA: Anything else we should know to help you best?
Customer: What else should I check...is there a fuse somewhere that goes to the ice maker? If so it is on the main control board or where do I find it

If you press and hold the cube size button for 5 secs does it start to rotate?

Customer: replied 1 month ago.
No it doesn't

The door switches turn off the fridge lights, so I know they're working, plus they measured for continuity.
where does the ice maker get its power from
Expert:  Appliance Guru replied 1 month ago.

The icemaker gets powered from the main board in the back. If you have no power to it check the plug and then I would change out the control board.

All I ask is please use the Star Rating Link at the top of your page before leaving, A 5 STAR RATING ALLOWS UNLIMITED FOLLOWUP QUESTIONS AND A DIRECT LINK BACK TO ME.....tips are greatly appreciated so thank you very much for using this service. I did check the plug going into the ice maker...i measured one volt on a couple of wires, there's 5. Not sure how much should be going to the ice maker, but I would think 12 or 24 volts

can you answer that question?
Customer: replied 1 month ago.
guess not...

5 volts is what goes to the icemaker there is a delay in the messages

You may have just got a bad new icemaker, I have had that happen

Customer: replied 1 month ago.
But I didn't get 5 volts at the plug
Expert:  Appliance Guru replied 1 month ago.

Ok then I would change out the main board for that issue.
