I replaced the times switch (part 134237200) on my Kenmore

I replaced the times switch (part###-##-#### on my Kenmore
(model 417 94802301) because it would not drain. I put the new switch in and now it will not run the complete cycle unless I play with the control knob. It will fill and drain but not without me helping it. Can the new switch be BAD????

That is pretty odd to get a new timer that is faulty but there is no question that is what you have, given the symptoms. From where did you purchase the timer?
