Well, if the door switch is faulty, you won't be able to fix it without replacing the latch assembly. First we need to see if the switch is faulty by testing it.
Access the wire terminals and measure between them with the door shut, looking for continuity.
They do fail, yes. They are constantly in motion with the opening and closing of the door.
Okay, just post back with your findings. You can turn the breaker off for 15 minutes to reset the control first. That may reset if it is control related but I suspect that switch is faulty if it does not reset.
