i have a kenmore side by side refrigerator and the damper is icing up just trying to figure out what is wrong

Customer: well i have checked the defroster coil, replace the thermister,

checked this with my ohm meter and it is working

At room temperature, it should be open (Infinite ohms)

Unfortunately with the thermostat and defrost heater working properly then the main control board is at fault and would need to be replaced.

is there anyway i can ohm that out to make sure before i buy this part

No there is no way to test the board.

Not a problem. Just also make sure all connections are making contact and not froze causing a poor connection.
