I have a Kenmore 11049722990 washing machine that will not

Customer Question

I have a Kenmore***********washing machine that will not spin. Everything else works, the agitator locks in but does not spin
JA: Can you guesstimate how old your Kenmore is? And just to clarify, what's the exact model?
Customer: probably over 10 years old.
JA: Do you plan on doing the work yourself?
Customer: Depends on what you tell me
JA: Anything else we should know to help you best?
Customer: It was making a loud noise on spin but we found one of the wheels fell off and become lodged in the end of the motor. We pulled it off and reinstalled. It showed wear from being close to the shaft on the bottom end. We were hoping that caused it to stop

No, it was the wheel on the bottom of the washer to move the unit
Customer: replied 4 months ago.
no parts fell off. The bottom drive belt does not move during spin

Does the motor run?

Customer: replied 4 months ago.
It hums but that could be the water pump. Could it be electrical?
Expert:  Kelly replied 4 months ago.
  1. If you raise and lower the lid, do you hear the lid switch clicking?
  2. If you poke a pen down the hole to actuate the lid switch, will it spin?

Even if everything else works?
Expert:  Appliance Guru replied 4 months ago.

Yes the lid switch is only used for the SPIN part of the cycle so it will not spin or do anything if that switch does not work
