My Kenmore elite freezer door came off on the left side and

Customer Question

My Kenmore elite freezer door came off on the left side and I can not seem to get the two bars back in. The bottom one that needs to slide under the bar will not go back in place.
JA: Can you guesstimate how old your Kenmore is? And just to clarify, what's the exact model?
Customer: It is a tilt door model number 79579754
JA: Do you plan on doing the work yourself?
Customer: yes and there is a 900 after that.
JA: Anything else we should know to help you best?
Customer: I don't think so. Thank you.
JA: OK. Got it. I'm sending you to a secure page on JustAnswer so you can place the $5 fully-refundable deposit now. While you're filling out that form, I'll tell the Appliance Technician about your situation and then connect you two.

Expert:  Ezekiel replied 5 months ago.

the lower hinge falls in position then the upper lock slides in place everything must be flush for the upper bar to slide in place

Expert:  Ezekiel replied 5 months ago.

I was trying to find a video to show you how its goes on

Customer: replied 5 months ago.
I have taken off the bracket to the door to try to insert it at a better angle, then I would just have to screw it back on. Is there a trick to getting that bottom hook under the bar?
Expert:  Ezekiel replied 5 months ago.

no trick at all its all about the angle and applying pressure

Customer: replied 5 months ago.
I have also removed the white plastic to be able to get a better view. Does the mechanism need to be in the locked or nontilt mode to be inserted or is it fine in tilt mode?
Customer: replied 5 months ago.
Are you still with me?
Expert:  Ezekiel replied 5 months ago.

Expert:  Ezekiel replied 5 months ago.
