Customer Question

I just changed a blown white thermal fuse on a gas dryer and then when I turned it on, it blew right away, without any glow from the igniter. There is continuity on the thermal cut outs, cycling thermostat, igniter, flame sensor. What could be causing the thermal fuse to blow right away?

Please take an ohms reading across the igniter wires, and let me know what you find. Thank you.

Please check the output wire on the thermal fuse to ground, and let me know what reading you get. Thank you.

Both output wires on the thermal fuse are open to GND. Thank you.

I think the diagnosis of this problem requires eyes on by a trained technician. I'll opt out, so another of our experts, who may have dealt with it, can respond. Thank you for choosing JustAnswer.
