I have a Kenmore dryer that recently quit drying/heating. I purchased a heating element from sears and installed it. It worked at first and then gradually over the last two weeks it has only dried/heated sporadically.

Hello, does the dryer heat at all right now? You will need a volt/ohm meter to test voltage and components.

Have you checked for loose wires/connections on the element and thermostat on the element canister? You need a volt meter to figure out where you're loosing voltage.
