Customer Question

I have a SM(###) ###-####whirlpool washer and it seems stuck. There is a load in there and it went half way through its cycle but didn't finish. It's making a low pitch constant humming noise which seems like there is still power running, but nothing happens other than that noise. I tried resetting the circuit breaker with no change. I've tried different cycle options with no improvement either

Hello from JA

I will be glad to assist you today.
I have been servicing ALL Major Brands of Appliances for 35 Years,
and have over 100,000 in home repairs and over 80,000 internet repairs under my belt.

Can I please have the Full model number of the unit to better assist you ?
And SM8525146 is NOT a whirlpool model number .

The model number is ***** the lid at the rear of the opening on top loaders .If you open the washer lid ,
under the lid NOT on the lid ,but under the lid at the rear of the opening will be the manufactures model and serial number on a silver tag.
And just inside the door on the face frame after the door is opened on front loaders.

This is exactly what it says under the lid at the rear of the washer:

Is there a way to make the washer drain as it is? There is still water in the washer
Expert:  Whrlp Master Tech replied 11 months ago.

If the coupler is broken the unit should still drain fine .just set the washer to spin it should drain ,just not spin .

Let me know if that too is not working.

Customer: replied 11 months ago.
It didn't drain either
Expert:  Whrlp Master Tech replied 11 months ago.

ok if it does not agitate ,drain nor spin it is not the coupler then .

Have you removed the cabinet to see what the unit is doing inside yet?
