Customer Question

We have a dishwasher Mod#KDTE334DSS0. It has stopped during a cycle. We turned off the breaker and re-set breaker after 15 minutes. Washer will not run. Cycle lights activate but when door is closed, all lights turn off after 2-3 minutes and washer will not run

Hi, welcome to Just Answer. My name is ***** ***** I look forward to helping you! If it still programs fine but just will not start, the issue is likely to be with the door latch switch. Does the door close and latch easily and securely? If you select cancel cycle, does the drain pump come on?

door latches fine, will not drain
Expert:  Kelly replied 9 months ago.

Okay, so the switch is likely faulty. Do you have a meter to perform any testing with?

Customer: replied 9 months ago.
which switch?

door does latch closed and is secure
Expert:  Kelly replied 9 months ago.

There is a switch in the door latch that must close or nothing will be allowed to run. The control will default back to off if it does not start, too.

Expert:  Kelly replied 9 months ago.

The latch is fine, but the switch has likely failed.

I believe that this unit is under warranty. Purchased less than a year ago.
Expert:  Kelly replied 9 months ago.

They are separate parts but come together, shown as number 5 in the diagram.

If less than a year old, it would indeed be under warranty. I am happy to help if you want to replace that switch or if you prefer to call for warranty service, 1-***-***-****.
