I have a g.e. Washer that only tries to drain from the

Customer Question

I have a g.e. Washer that only tries to drain from the beginning of the cycle. When i did diagnostics it coded out as a water temp sensor. I replaced it and still have the same issue. I tested the pressure switch and the light on the motor shows good. So from being unplugged with the codes erased i put it in a cycle. The lights light up properly. As soon as i push the start button the wash light comes on and the washer goes into drain. It runs in drain roughly 5 minutes and then shuts off. It doesnt attempt to fill, wash, or drain. The codes again are water temp sensor and slow drain. I have also checked the pump for an obstruction.

ok great!

give me a minute or 2 to pull the GE site up!

Customer: replied 10 months ago.
While in diagnostics i was able to test all functions of the machine and everything worked normal. I got a water temp sensor code and slow drain error code. I checked the sensor and only got 1k ohms. The pump was clear. The new sensor i installed gave me 67k ohms i believe.
Expert:  Whrlp Master Tech replied 10 months ago.

Ok at the sensor had a part number of WH12X410?

And the reading of 67k ohms was that at near room temp ?

Customer: replied 10 months ago.
It was chilled, but yes.
Expert:  Whrlp Master Tech replied 10 months ago.

ok that is about right for the sensor.

And it plugs right in to the control board with not quick connections with in the harness correct?

Customer: replied 10 months ago.
It has one set of wires that harness into the board and a seperat wire that plugs into the water level switch.
Expert:  Whrlp Master Tech replied 10 months ago.

ok but no chance of the harness being the issue because the harness is part of the new sensor.

So with getting the sensor error and a slow drain error and the drain working fine .

I have to assume the issue is with in the electronic control board.

Is there any test i can do to confirm that?
Customer: replied 10 months ago.
Upon visual inspection there was no evidence of burned connections or broken solder joints.
Expert:  Whrlp Master Tech replied 10 months ago.

well your testing is testing the resistance and replacing the sensor .

And making sure the drain does drain out fine and in fact it not slow.

It is not a issue of something not working as if it had a burnt component on the board ,but I suspect the control board software has been corrupted , possibly by a power surge or a brown out .

Ok ty for your time. I will give my customer the info. Should that be the right repair i will update you.
