Control panel is black no response to touch. Checks igniters and found one is frayed. Could the problem be the igniter or the control board? Can find replacement igniter but no control board. Unit is 16 yrs old.

You will need to see if the main control is getting voltage or not.

Test L1 to N or neutral looking for 120 volts A/C

if you have voltage then the control board will need to be replaced.

Ok-so I'm a 50 something woman with no clue as to where to find an L1bto test it. Could you point me in the right direction? Thanks for the recommendation on the place to secure the part!

on the rear of the control /clock the black wire will be L1 and a White wire will be Neutral
