And the clicking keeps clicking even if the burners are all turned off ? And has the unit gotten wet around the burner knos recently?

you will need to remove the burner grates ,burner caps and remove the burner heads the knobs and the cooking surface will lift off to gain access to the interior of the cooktop .
sure is ,just remove one at a time from the old part and put it on the new part. easy swape
the part is cheap enough and once replace it should last another 10 years or more ,unless you have other issues with it.
