My igniter will not turn off. Water was spilt on the stove

Customer Question

Hi
My igniter will not turn off. Water was spilt on the stove and we have dried it out to the best of our ability. Any suggestions? It's a wolf 30" range

Hello, this is Dave and I'm happy to help. If you take off the knobs and aim a hair dryer in to warm each switch this will dry and the clicking will stop.

Tried it and still doesn't work. Is there anything else I can try? Took apart the burner and knob.

The picture is of the burner area. The clicking cause by a spill generally shorts the switch under the knob where you turn on the burner. Most times after the water evaporates the clicking stops. You could even turn off the breaker to the stove and in the morning it may be okay even without using the hair dryer.

Has the clicking stopped or do you still need help?

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Still clicking. I have a technician coming tomorrow to fix the issue.

Okay. Sounds like the switch shorted. Sorry it wasn't simple.
