Customer Question

Have a Fisher and Paykel E522B refrigerator with an E02 error code.
I have read this is a sensor error. Is that correct? If so How do i get the part and instructions to replace.
Thanks,

Could you give me the full model number please, together with the product code if you can find it. There are about ten different versions. Thanks - Ian

This is a typical model number - E522BLEGRPWW14 (2156-A) it should be on a rating plate inside the cabinet.

Ok will look again once I am home later tonight.
Expert:  bonzaco replied 1 year ago.

The error code that you mention is not a sensor fault.

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Ok what do you think it is? Here is the model number and product code:
Model E522B
Product 22179-A
Expert:  bonzaco replied 1 year ago.

It is the evaporator defrost heater but there are three versions depending on size.

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
how do you determine size?
Expert:  bonzaco replied 1 year ago.

Take the appliance to pieces and measure the width and height of the heater.

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
That's not realistic.
Expert:  bonzaco replied 1 year ago.

Why do you say that, in order to rectify the problem you are going to have to access the evaporator, you can't change the defective heater without doing so.

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
I was hoping to get the replacement part before taking apart. You feel confident the error code E02 is the defrost heater and not a sensor.
Expert:  bonzaco replied 1 year ago.

Yes but if you take it apart and put a multimeter across the cable ends you will know quickly enough. If you feel happier you could also order the sensor (but my manual says its the heater) and change them both as they are in the same area.

Do you require further assistance?

Expert:  bonzaco replied 1 year ago.

OK whilst I had a spare moment I have been checking the manual and the Error code is model dependent, I have now got the full manual but without the full model number I cannot be sure which it is - the data label is located at the front right-hand side of the cabinet edge. Open the lower door/draw to locate. Once you have given me the full information I will forward you the detail covering you specific variant.
