Reason my washing machine wont spin dry my wet clothes so

Customer Question

For some reason my washing machine wont spin dry my wet clothes so that I can put them into my dryer. Can you help me? I would give you my model #but the factory put it in the tub rim, in back, so that my 90yr old eyes can't read it. I bought it new from Lowes 'bout 2 years ago. It's the simple washer with about 5 round dialers on the back of the washer.

I'm 90, and I can't read the number. the machine is 2-30years old, and has the 5 dials across the back .

ok does the tub fill completely up with water or is this an energy saver unit?

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
I use it on the dial settin...small medium or large load, and it seems to be filling to the normal amount ofvwater.
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
I can't hear on the phone. I prefer e mail.
Expert:  Whrlp Master Tech replied 1 year ago.

And do you have the recipient from Lowes it may have the model number of the washer on it?

Ok BUT what is the normal amount ??

Whirlpool does not have just one type of washer they have about 10-15 different designs on the market .

And 5 knobs in the rear does not help me at all .

I did not send you a phone request that is automatic from the web site.

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
We put the receipt away somewhere, so I can't find it...the phone thing was up there so I answered you accordingly.
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
The 'normal ' amount is the amount used to go with the dial settin...small,medium and large...no gallon amount is mentioned or ndicated.

ok I actually have not given me much to go on .

Does the unit not even spin at all or is it spinning and just not up to speed to spin the water out of the clothes?

If it does not spin at all ,when it should be spinning doe you even hear the washer running?

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
It seems to be spinning...at least I hear a noise...but the clothes are very wet. I just left the wet clothes in, and pulled the plug...the washer seemed to be activating itself...going into another wash cycle, but with the same end result...wet clothes.
Expert:  Whrlp Master Tech replied 1 year ago.

ok your saying that you have pulled the plug and the washer is activating itself even when it is unplugged from the wall outlet??

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
no..I pulled theplug AFTER I coudn't get the machine to perform correctly...then I gave up and pulled the plug..but before that the machine was activating itself.

I prefer chatting online.

ok With out the model number I pretty much have to guess at the issue .

You hear a noise (like it is spinning when it should be spinning so I have to suspect that the washers clutch is slipping .

And that is not a repair that it sounds like you are able to do .

I recommend that you call in a local service company to have them work on it for you !

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
I guess I'll have to do that. As a customer, the Co. Puts the model number ina dumb place for owners. Why not put it on the back of the lid where you have the other washer info...and I know you don't make 'em,you just servive them.
over and out.
Expert:  Whrlp Master Tech replied 1 year ago.

good luck .

and as for the model number Whirlpool has had it in the same spot under the lid for the last 50 years.
