Thank you!

Have you ever opened the unit up to clean inside of it?

I recommend it be done at least once a year.

Would could not figure out the back off
Customer: replied 11 months ago.
I have to tell you that before this it started turning off in the middle of cycles. So we cleaned out the vent that was attached to the wall and it did help but now this
Expert:  Whrlp Master Tech replied 11 months ago.

all work is done from the front!!

Remove the lower front panel .

It has two clips on the top of the front panel about 2 inches from the corners .

then the panel folds down and you can vacuum out from under the drum.

Remember to unplug the unit first there are electrical wires down there that you may touch ,so be safe cleaning it

when it shut off!

Where you able to turn it right back on or did it not start right away and you have to wait several minutes for it to be able to be started?

Customer: replied 11 months ago.
NO it had to cool down first
Customer: replied 11 months ago.
Do you have a link you could share on taking this model apart from the front. I just want to be sure that we are taking it apart correctly.
Expert:  Whrlp Master Tech replied 11 months ago.

ok that would have been the drive motor getting hot and the motors internal overload opening and then once it cools down the motor will start.

This is normally form the motor being covered in link (insulating the motor) so it can not be kept cooled by air flow from the motor running .

You may be ok if you just clean it out ,but that shutting off over and over again could have damaged the motor so that you will have to replace the motor .

but let`s clean it out first and see what it does.

Let me look for a video on You tube for you BRB!

the clips are item #43 on this parts break down

http://c.searspartsdirect.com/lis_png/PLDM/W1102032-00002.png

and this video will show you how to open and remove the lower front panel in the first 40 seconds of the video .

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=scgftb8_06c

The video is just to show you how to open the front lower panel . and the clips are in a bit more like 3-4 inches not the 2 inches that I stated earlier.

And if the motor still shuts off after cleaning it out here is a link to the part.

The link below is to the part you will need from a highly recommended company rated A+ with the Better Business Bureau.
They offer a 100% money back guarantee, EVEN ON INSTALLED ELECTRICAL PARTS, for an entire year!
They are the only company to allow returns on installed parts for a refund and offer a FULL ONE YEAR WARRANTY!

Ok thanks for your help. We opened it up and it looks pretty dirty!
Expert:  Whrlp Master Tech replied 11 months ago.

just remember to unplug it .

And if you do have to replace the motor here is a video that may help you do that.

It is not your exact unit but it is the same design .

and Whirlpool owns Maytag that is why the part shows as a Whirlpool part.
