My ice maker is not working on my GE profile refrigerator...I think the water line is clogged...if I turn it off and let the clog melt will that solve the problem?

I have never had this problem before

I see. Just wanted to make sure. If so, the fill tube where the water comes in is frozen. If you unplug the unit for 12 hours and then plug it in and it works the water valve on back needs replaced.

An easy way to see if it's the ice maker, fill tube, or water valve is to pour water into the ice maker. Wait 24hr. If it makes ice, the water valve is bad or the fill tube is frozen. If it does not make ice, the ice maker is bad.

If I unplug for 12 hours and then plug it back in and then try to make ice and it works then the water valve is the problem, correct.....and if it doesn't work then it is probably the ice maker?

Basically yes that's correct.
