Whirlpool oven model RBD275PDS15. I replaced the control

Customer Question

Whirlpool oven model RBD275PDS15. I replaced the control board but now getting an error code F5 E1 about 30 seconds after powering up. Then it gives an error code F2 E1 about 30 seconds later. I have checked the ribbon cable and it looks as if it is seated properly. Any advice?

Hello from JA
My name is Woody.
I will be glad to assist you today.
I have been servicing ALL Major Brands of Appliances for 35 Years,
and have over 100,000 in home repairs and over 80,000 internet repairs under my belt.

The F5 is a door latch error and the F2-e1 is a keypad not connected to the control board.

what is the part number of the control board that you just replaced?

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
rev D. The original board was same number Rev A. Does the Revision number matter?
Expert:  Whrlp Master Tech replied 1 year ago.

Ok for the main control board for the oven that is right behind the console area I show a part number of W10406070

Expert:  Whrlp Master Tech replied 1 year ago.

Here is a link to the part so you can visually see it .

Ok I pulled it up another way both numbers do cross to the W10438751 it was not showing that at first

If the ribbon from the keypad is secured let`s try removing it and cleaning the end with a pencil eraser!

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
I cleaned with eraser and reinserted. Same 2 error codes were received.
Expert:  Whrlp Master Tech replied 1 year ago.

Ok well you have the correct new control board.

Is the oven door locked?

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Oven door is not locked
Expert:  Whrlp Master Tech replied 1 year ago.

Ok so this new control is giving you two different error codes and they are both not correct.

Door not locked and the ribbon is in fact connected to the control board.

I recommend to return the control board and get another one .

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Was afraid of that. Before I do is there any trick with connecting the ribbon cable. I believe it is correctly seated into female connector on the control board. Any thoughts?
Expert:  Whrlp Master Tech replied 1 year ago.

just push it all the way down into the socket connector.

And the two locking clips on the end should lock in place.

What was the problem that you removed the old board for?

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
The display went blank. It would beep when you pushed the buttons but oven would not heat.
Expert:  Whrlp Master Tech replied 1 year ago.

ok so the LCD screen went out on it

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
The original board was discolored in this area. See pic
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
LCD went out and oven would not heat
Expert:  Whrlp Master Tech replied 1 year ago.

yep still sounds like it was in the old control board nothing else would do that the control is what open and controls the relays that power the elements.

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Was sent a replacement control board and the oven works fine now. Thanks for your help
