I have a Samsung RS263TDBP, the defrost sensor is not

Customer Question

Hello, I have a Samsung RS263TDBP, the defrost sensor is not working.. The whole bottom half of fridge is a block of ice. My question is, after thawing everything out I plugged in the lower panel and the fan will not com on, would that be a result of the bad sensor?

The fan will not run unless you fool the door switch closed- did you do that?

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
I left the door shut for about five minutes, and the fan wasn't turning but there was ice on the coil pack already

I will look this up and see if that sensor has anything to do with the fan.

Is the display normal on this? IF a sensor was bad it would not appear normal after replugging it in to the outlet.

The display seems normal!

You will need a voltmeter top make some tests here. Are you so equipped?

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Negative, I was thinking about that earlier, I'm headed to the store in a bit, I'll stop and get one!

Ok. I will go thru a diagnosis with you but that will need to be done live on the phone as too much time will be spent simply typing. I am making you an offer for that call.

I don't teach how to use a meter- make sure you know how if you take the offer.
