In most cases your problem is going to be your washer lid switch has broken. here is a video that will help explain how to repair this. The Part #: 3949237 for you lid switch.

You can verify it is a bad lid switch by placing a jumper wire between the grey and tan wire on the plug that connects to the cabinet of the washer. Please be careful. Be sure to unplug the washer before placing the jumper wire in the plug.
