Customer Question

I own a whirlpool top load washing machine that includes a lid lock. When I close the lid and hit the tub begins to fill. However, the lock mechanism does not engage and eventually the drain mechanism starts, empties the tub and does not turn off until I push the until the machine stops. How do I fix this?

If the lock isnt working you need to replace it. Do you have a multimeter?

If I replace the lid lock, will that then allow all the cycles to work properly?

Yes it should. You can test the lock for continuity to make sure if it is faulty or not.
