Customer Question

I have a may tag 5500aww dryer. It tries start when u hit the start button. It will start when u hit the fluff button. It stop doing that. I'm trying to figure out if it's the control board or the panel

The only thing that can cause that issue is the touch control panel, not the control board if the fluff button is causing the dryer to start when you press it. Try to unplug the dryer for 5 minutes to see if the electronics will reset. If that doesn't work, then it sounds like the membrane buttons inside the touch control panel are shorting out and will need to be replaced.

I have taken the ribbon off and on the touch control panel. Not sure if that is the ccu board
Expert:  Appliance Guru replied 1 year ago.

Ok reseat it and try it often I carefully bend the tabs on the board tighter so they make better contact with the ribbon cable

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
