You need to check the lid switch, do you have a phillips screw driver and are you capable of doing this check?

OK you need to check or bypass the lid switch to see if that is the issue. You need to remove the two inner phillips screws on the top edge of the console. The console will flip forward exposing the switch. Check it with a multimeter with the unit unplugged for continuity.
