my sub zero 690 ice maker is overflowing with water. I think it is a defective valve. But it could need a new ice maker assembly.

I doubt the valve is bad as when they fail they don't open at all or don't allow enough water to flow. Replace the icemaker as that is what energizes the valve, so it is staying on too long. Look on ebay for the best price on one as SZ will want way more for one.
