Maytag washer 4000 series. Water leaks into drum when washer not in use.

If you unplug the unit, does it still leak water in the drum?

Not sure. The plug is hard to get to. The leak is slow and it takes a few days to show up in the drum. If that is only way to diagnose the problem I will unplug it and let you know in a few days. Let me know.

It can be a few problems. The water inlet valve is my first guess as it is leaking with the unit off. Do you have a multimeter to test the valve?

Yes I do, but not sure what that will do. If there is voltage to one of the valves (hot or cold) the drum would fill rapidly. If there is no voltage it still wouldn't determine if one has a slow leak. Let me know what test you are thinking of.
