We have a bottom freezer refrig model #gfsf6kkxabb, serial

Customer Question

We have a bottom freezer refrig model #gfsf6kkxabb, serial #gr550212. Three times now we have seen a puddle of clean water on the floor in front of the refrig. The floor clearance is very small and we ca not see anything under there like our old refrig had evaporator tray that would run over and we needed to dump. We've had this refrig almost 5 yrs with no problem. We have never changed the water filter as the sign to change it has never come up. It's cooling and freezing with no problem. Any advice?

Hello, open the freezer door and look at the inside under the draw. Is it a sheet of ice? Can you feel it? If so the deforst drain behind the freezer back wall will have to cleared out. Remove the draws from the freezer and the two screws that hold the back panel on and remove the back panel. Then using a steamer or hot water you need to melt all the ice in the defrost drain tube which is located under the freezer evaporator.
If you have any questions on the procedure in more detail feel free to ask. It can be a difficult job sometimes.

There doesn't appear to be any ice. With the freezer door pulled out ,is to hat where we are suppose to see the screws to remove panel? We don,t see any or is it behind the refrig at the bottom?
