John, my GE ZFSB23DRE stopped cooling on both the refrigerator

Customer Question

John, my GE ZFSB23DRE stopped cooling on both the refrigerator and the freezer sides. I hear the fan come on when the door is opened and heard what sounds like the compressor, but temperature are climbing. The unit has made a low moaning sound for over a year. I no longer hear that sound now that it is not cooling. Any suggestions?
Regards, Ken

So the first thing you'd need to do is pull the refrigerator out and remove the lower back access panel. Touch the big black round compressor and is it room temperature, warm, or blazing hot? Also, is the fan next to the compressor running?
