My frigidaire gallery range door is locked. I tried turning

Customer Question

my frigidaire gallery range door is locked. I tried turning off the breaker for 15 minutes--no help. also held down the oven light switch, hit clean cycle button, then cancel, and the locked light went off, with the purring noise of the motor working, but the lock didn't release. what next?

ok thx , give me a couple min

ok , one thing to try ,if you havent already ? is do the things you already posted but this time as you hear the motor push slightly on the oven door ,it sounds like the latch motor is stripped out
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
tried it--didn't work. the motor keeps purring for 5-6 seconds, the locked light goes off, but door remains locked. this has happened once before, and the things I did worked. We've never used the clean cycle, so I doubt that the motor would be stripped.

its getting power ,if the light goes out then the latch switch is working , the problem has to be in the latch motor itself or the rod that locks may be caught up in the insulation ,if those dont work , the only other way is to remove the rear panel ,unplug of course , remove the latch assembly and disconnect the locking rod from the latch motor and turn it manually to the unlock position ,then reinsert the latch motor and watch to see if it is binding
