PROBLEM: Won't Run and LED Above Key(s) is Flashing Rapidly

Short circuit(s) in keypad or

in control's input lines that

read the keys.

Don't replace both:

See first section of

"Checking Keypad Operation" for test to

determine whether shorts are in the

keypad or the control.

CHECKING KEYPAD

OPERATION

A rapidly blinking LED over

one of the keys of the keypad

(or sometimes a "dead"

keypad/console) indicates one

or more key switch lines are

stuck or shorted on either the

control or the keypad. To

determine if the control or

keypad is faulty, do the

following test:

1.

Unplug dishwasher or disconnect

power.

2.

Open the dishwasher door.

3.

Open console and disconnect the

keypad ribbon connection from

the control (at P1). Make sure all

other connections are made.

4.

Put console back together. Do not

close the dishwasher door.

5.

Plug in dishwasher or reconnect

power.

6.

Wait 5 seconds.

7.

Close dishwasher door.

8.

Monitor the control's response:

If the control is OK (no longer

sees shorts with the keypad

unplugged), it will respond by

turning on a Drain Motor for

2 minutes. Check and/or

replace the keypad if the

control responds OK.

If the control is not OK (still

sees shorts with the keypad

unplugged), then the drain

motor will NOT respond and

will remain off. If no response,

replace the control.

How do I open console? Remove whole front of door?

Expert:  Bryan replied 10 months ago.

around the inside of the door there are screws, remove them and lift the inner door panel up. On some of these you just remove the ones near the top and the control will come off without removing the whole inner panel.

Customer: replied 10 months ago.

14 screws, no separate panel, will have to take off whole door. But that is it, either replace the control or the keypad? any ballpark figure on what each costs? is it cheaper to replace dishwasher?

Expert:  Bryan replied 10 months ago.
yes I do have the prices, the control board is $126.00 Control Board(NNN) NNN-NNNNMain Product View and the keypad is $124.00 Touchpad and Control Panel(NNN) NNN-NNNN Main Product View now the links are below to order and they have a full money back guaranty even if you install them. heres the links. CONTROL KEYPAD just click whichever you need. thanks and have a great night, Bryan
