Hello from JA My name is Woody. I will be glad to assist you today. I have been servicing ALL Major Brands of Appliances for 33 Years, and have over 100,000 in home repairs and over 50,000 phone and internet repairs under my belt. No gas is coming out it is the switch on the valve that would need replaced .
But the top of the range has to be raised up which means the screws on the burner heads have to be removed and most times the screws are rusted in place, and will need to be either broken or drilled out even for service people it is a hassle. don`t shoot the messenger!
The range is less than a year old, so I hope the screws won't be rusted in place! But anyway, I am thankful to know that there's no gas coming out and we won't all die during the night.
