For 2hours. ff on the display. Touched the side and its really. Should I be concerned about fire. About 4 yrs old

No. Haven't moved it

If the sides of the freezer are warm it could be dirty condenser coils, pull the freezer out and remove the bottom panel and tell me if the coils are dirty or if the fan motor is going please .

Are the coils in the same panel as the battery or somewhere else

On some models you can remove the front bottom kick plate to clean the coils on others you have to pull the freezer out and remove the bottom panel to see the fan motor and the coils .

Morning John. I moved the freezer and on the left side I removed the panel (battery is on this same side)
The few coils looked fine. Very little corrosion
I plugged it in it is running fine
Don't see fan to tell if it is working
If it is the fan what should I expect to pay a tech

The coils you see are they at the back of the freezer , is this a chest freezer ?

It is a chest freezer. No panels or coils behind unit only behind panel I removed on left of freeze. I took a pic with my iPhone. Send me a email address and I will forward

If its a chest freezer you don't have coils to clean or a fan to replace .
Is the freezer nice and cold is it keeping ice cream hard ?

It gets really cold. Just feels extremely HOT

On a chest freezer the coils are inside between the inner and outer walls so the sides will get very warm and thats normal , if its really cold in the freezer turn down turn the thermostat to a warmer setting this should stop the beeping .
