Hello from JA My name is Woody. I will be glad to assist you today. I have been servicing ALL Major Brands of Appliances for 33 Years, and have over 100,000 in home repairs and over 50,000 phone and internet repairs under my belt. I`m sorry to say that your servicer was correct.
After 7 years the manufactures have to no longer support a product, they delete all the old literature ,remove all none sold parts from dealers stock and credit them if they did have some old parts on their shelves.
The parts is No Longer Available.
The only way to get rid of the issue you have is to replace the unit .
I know that is not what you wanted to hear for a second time but that is the only answer.
Do you think a repair man somewhere would have the parts?
It is possible a service company might have ordered on for a customer and then did not need it .
You can try looking on Ebay or someplace like that, the bad thing is since Whirlpool /Roper does not even show literature on it any longer , I can not even give you a part number
I do have a parts manual.I will try to ID the part. Not exactly sure how it looks.
