We have a Maytag quite series 300 dishwasher. Some of the tines on the upper and lower racks have become a little rusted. This has caused rust marks on some of the dishes. Is there anything we can do to restore the tines? We know you can purchase new upper and lower racks, however, they are rather expensive. It would be almost cheaper to purchase a new dishwasher which we would prefer not to do. Other than the above issue, the dishwasher has done a great job. We have had it for several years and this has been the only problem.

repairguy :

There is a product a lowes, that is designed to cover scratches and that type of thing, it is in the appliance department and is a epoxy paint, it will not reattach the tines, but it will cover them with a coating so the rust will stop

repairguy :

If you dont like the paint the other idea is another product at Lowes that is used to coat the end of tools so they have a rubber coating. It will probably only come in yellow though.

Customer:

Thank you. We will give it a try. Appreciate your input.
