Whirlpool washer bought at Sears. Power went out for a few

This answer was rated:

Whirlpool washer bought at Sears.
Power went out for a few seconds during the cycle.
Now, the lid is locked
Red light on end (Lid Locked) is flashing
Will not open. No knobs work. Will not restart.
I have unplugged it and plugged it back in with no change.

Wet clothes are inside.
Now what?

Randy 43 :

Hello, my name is XXXXX XXXXX iam happy to help you with your question today..hi do you have a model number ? i know the lid is locked but if you have it written somewhere ? when you shut the breaker off how long was it off for ? and the power button doesnt respond at all

Customer:

Cannot find model number. Breaker only off for seconds in order to check it. Washer is currently unplugged for half hour. No response from Unlock/Start button.

Randy 43 :

so you have plugged it back in then after 30 min ? that shouldve been enough time to reset the board, and still lite flashing ?

Customer:

Okay, light finally went out when replugged. Lid opens. Is it safe to restart now, if it will?

Randy 43 :

yes , it is ok to start , the breaker has to be off a certain amount of time to reset the board ,usually 5-10 min to fully reset

Customer:

Seems to be running now. A learning experience. Thanks

Randy 43 :

it probably wont be the last time it happens , just remember to keep it off for a minimum of 5 min and you should be fine

Customer:

Okay. Thanks for your help
