hi i have washing machine front loadwhirlpool duet 7 yrs old ghw9400pwo
loud knocking sound when spinning about one month with problem
At first minute no knocking sound then as it picks up speed the knocking starts gets louder then goes away at max speed
as the speed reduces the reverse happens
one brocken shock replaced all four (that reduced the knocking but did not eliminate)
unit is level
The main bearing is bad and will need replaced. The bearing is located in the rear portion of the tubs. The whole tub will need to be removed to chang e the bearing.

I WAS ON YOU TUBE WHERE A DEFECTIVE BEARING MADE A LOUD CRUNCHING WHIRRING SOUND THIS IS NOT HAPPENING WITH MY MACHINE

IF YOU STILL BELIEVE IT IS BEARING WHAT IS THE COST FOR A MECHANIC TO COME IN AND REPAIR NYC AND DO YOU RECOMMEND SOMEONE

The only other possibility is some thing has gotten between the drum and plastic casing. This is unlikely butdoes happen. Either way you will need a tech to service it. I would rrecommend A & E service at(NNN) NNN-NNNN They will be able to quote you a price for service.
