Appliance Repair Questions? Ask a Technician for Answers ASAP
Hello, Thank you for using this service, I will be helping you with your problem today.
This is a common issue.Your defrost drain hole is frozen and needs to be defrosted, Now there re a couple of ways to do this. of course one would be to unplug the refrigerator for 24 hours with the doors open but most people cant do that. so your left with one option. open the freezer and remove the back panel behind the drawer. you will see the evaporator coils.in the middle under the coils you will see a sheet of ice. below that ice is the drain hole. the fastest way to defrost it is pour boiling water over it until it all melts and it drains freely down the hole again. the other way is with a hair dryer which takes much longer and doesn't always clear it completely. Hope this helps. thanks and best wishes, Bryan
